Welcome to the website of the Otago Model Engineering Society (OMES). We do hope you will find something of interest if you are a member of the public, a member of another club or a prospective member.
The OMES was established in 1936 for people to get together to enjoy model engineering, namely building and running a variety of steam, diesel and electric locomotives (Engineering Group), model boats, traction engines, model trains and tethered cars.
Below is a map of our location (1 John Wilson Drive, St Kilda, Dunedin) and a Calendar of our running days and other OMES events.
Exhibition Week 2018
Once again the club is opening its doors and putting on an exhibition of modelling. The exhibition runs from the 3rd February to the 11th February. The club will be open all day on the weekends as well as Waitangi Day, plus opening on the evenings during the week.
$5 for adults,
$3 for children,
$10 for a family of two adults and two children.
Train rides are $2 per person available from the train station.
Keep an eye out for other possible running days, as well as holding your own Private Event at the Society's grounds.
Also use this link (click on folder image) to view all past issues back to June 2011 on Google Drive (no passwords needed). They are now all arranged in year groupings.

Otago Model Engineering Society holds Private Events all year round. We have been very busy over the last few months.
