The above video shows a JA class steam locomotive in 120th scale (N Scale). Early diesel era on the HO Scale with the Southerner (Christchurch-Dunedin-Invercargill) lead by a DC passing a DG on a freight and a Mitsubishi built DJ on a freight also passing on the other main.
The Scale Railway Group operates Model Trains on the two large permanent layouts at the club. NZR on both the N Scale and HO Scale Layout..The members of this group will be more than happy to talk about their own locomotives and projects and help other new or perspective members with their model trains or railways.
This group meets every Tuesday at the OMES clubrooms at 7:30pm- Running Night
A formal meeting is on the 3rd Tuesday of the Month- (at the same time and place)
The members of this group will also happily talk to the public at public running days (for the next public running day, see the OMES Facebook or Web page)
- Permanent HO/OO Scale Layout, this can cater for American, British, Continental European or NZR rolling stock
- Permanent N Scale Layout
- Both layouts can be run on DC or DCC
- Various model railway equipment (e.g. rock, wall or wagon load moulds etc) is available for members to use on their own layout.
